CKH2 - Commercial Hood Install and Service

Review important information on the "Test Info" page common to all exams and about marking / tagging your study material.

This assessment is intended to evaluate the ability of those installing, servicing, inspecting, and testing pre-engineered commercial kitchen hoods.

Because each manufacturer has specific criteria for their pre-engineered kitchen hood systems, our test is focused on requirements of NFPA 17A and NFPA 96 along with general concepts for selection of hood systems.  Our CSA Kitchen Hood Design manual has fictitious nozzles, pipes, fittings, and actuators to identify that the candidate understands how to apply limitations of nozzles to pipe sizes, lengths of pipe, etc. typical of the manufacturers.  It is imperative that an installer or service technician also be trained and qualified by the respective manufacturer of the system they are installing.
