Thursday August 16th, 2007 Fire Alarms 2 - Knowing a Little More and Plan Review Greenbrier, AR This fire alarm class will expand on our Fire Alarms 1 class. o Pre-requisite: Individual needs to have a comfortable understanding of fire alarm device placement with regards to smoke detectors and notification devices. Should have an understanding of different wire types used in fire alarm systems. Need to understand voltage drop and how it affects fire alarm systems. Familiarity of construction blue prints is recommended. o Smoke detection with obstructed construction (ceilings that are not smooth) o Duct detectors The reason for using sampling tubes, how to locate them o Verification feature of smoke detectors o The false security of heat detectors for elevator shunt-trip o Part II of Voltage Drop A better understanding o Key things to look at during plan review such as what is shown and what will be installed o Your role and limitations in reviewing shop drawings o Reviewing voltage drop calculations o Reviewing battery calculations This course is a must for engineers and their staff who review shop drawings, fire marshal's, building plan reviewers, general contractors, electrical contractors, facility owners, and anyone responsible or interested in reviewing installation drawings before the system is installed. This course is not geared towards nor intended for preparation of qualification exams.

This class will be presented at our training facility in Greenbrier, Arkansas. Located 45 minutes north of Little Rock, or just 10 minutes north of Conway on Hwy 65. Our facility provides a comfortable learning environment with tables and chairs selected specifically for training. Snacks and drinks will be provided. Lunch is not provided. Session starts promptly at 8:00am and will run to approximately 5:00pm. Please bring a copy of NFPA 72 (1999, 2002, or 2007 edition will work). Calculators will be used and will be available for your use. Refund Policy Refunds will be provided for written cancellations up to 11 business days prior to seminar date. After this time, no refunds will be given. You may substitute any attendee. Although not anticipated, we reserve the right to cancel a class. This may be due to insufficient registered attendees, or other conditions beyond our control. If a class is canceled, a full refund for seminar fees will be given. Every attempt will be maid to notify attendees two weeks prior to the seminar.
CSA provides code related seminars. These are usually half to full day classes providing general overviews of critical areas. Classes are generally geared towards electrical engineers, mechanical engineers, architects, electrical contractors, plan reviewers, inspectors, general contractors, and owners. Note: These classes are not intended for those who will be taking qualification assessments. Qualification assessments require knowledge beyond the general scope of these seminars. |
