We have just moved into our new testing / training facility in Greenbrier, Arkansas and will try to offer a different topic each month.  (see office)

Fire Alarms 1 - Just What You Need To Know

This fire alarm class provides a good quick overview of fire alarm requirements.  The course will cover spacing criteria of strobes and detection devices, in addition to circuit wiring, reliability, voltage drop, and more.  We will also cover the new changes within the Americans with Disabilities Act that impact fire alarms.

This course is a must for engineers, architects, fire marshal's, building plan reviewers, general contractors, electrical contractors, facility owners, and anyone who wants to understand the fundamental requirements for fire alarm systems.  This course is a good introduction for new fire alarm technicians, but is not intended as preparation of qualification exams.

 

Fire Alarms 2 - Knowing a Little More and Plan Review

This class will expand on our Fire Alarm 1 class.  We will go into more depth on spacing and location of detectors in more challenging situations such as beam pockets, and non-smooth ceilings.  We will review common problems with duct detectors, selecting the right one, and properly locating them when there is no room due to duct bends.  We will spend considerable time reviewing how to review shop drawings and calculations.  Whether you are an engineer, contractor, or authority having jurisdiction this class is a must.  Learn how to identify critical factors in the shortest time so that major issues can be avoided before the system is installed.

 

Fire Alarms 3 - System Inspection

This course is a must for engineers and their staff who perform site inspections, fire marshal's, building inspectors, general contractors, electrical contractors, facility owners, and anyone responsible or interested in learning how to functionally test a system for trouble conditions, short-cuts, improper wiring, overloaded circuits, poor audibility, speech intelligibility, and more.  This course is not geared towards nor intended for preparation of qualification exams.

Sprinkler Systems 1 - Fundamentals of Hydraulics

This class will introduce the participant to the basic hydraulic concepts necessary to understand how hydraulics and friction loss impact a sprinkler system.  This course can be taken by itself or as an introduction to Sessions 2 and 3 of this series.  This course is a must for engineers, engineer drafting technicians, fire marshal's, building plan reviewers, general contractors, installation contractors, sales representatives, facility owners, and anyone who wants to understand the fundamental hydraulic principles.  This course is a good introduction for new installers.

 

Sprinkler Systems 2 - Introduction to Common Sprinkler Criteria

This course is a must for engineers, engineer drafting technicians, fire marshal's, building plan reviewers, general contractors, installation contractors, sales representatives, facility owners, and anyone who wants to understand   basic requirements of sprinkler systems.  This course is a good introduction for new installers.  This course is not geared towards nor intended for preparation of qualification exams.

 

Sprinkler Systems 3 - Reviewing Plans and Hydraulic Calculations

Greenbrier, AR - Wednesday July 12th, 2006 - Learn More and REGISTER HERE

This class will focus on reviewing sprinkler shop drawings and hydraulic calculations for the engineer, technician, plan reviewer, inspector, or others wanting to be able to focus on key issues.  Students will be exposed to several different formats of calculations and how to focus on the most important areas in the least amount of time.  Find and identify problem areas before it is installed.

 

Hazardous Materials - How to Work With Them and Avoid "H" Occupancies

Greenbrier, AR - Thursday July 27th, 2006 - Learn More and REGISTER HERE

This class will focus on classification of hazardous materials so that they can be compared to the allowable (exempt) amounts of the International Building/Fire Code as adopted by the State of Arkansas.  The class will identify what control areas are and how to use them to your advantage.  The class will also include proper design and sizing of secondary containment along with a review of common mistakes.

Fire Marshals of the same jurisdiction get two-for-one attendance.  Indicate name of second person in the additional comments section of registration form.

 

Refund Policy

Refunds will be provided for written cancellations up to 11 business days prior to seminar date.  After this time, no refunds will be given.  You may substitute any attendee.  Although not anticipated, we reserve the right to cancel a class.  This may be due to insufficient registered attendees, or other conditions beyond our control.  If a class is canceled, a full refund for seminar fees will be given.  Every attempt will be maid to notify attendees two weeks prior to the seminar.

In addition to contractor qualification testing and plan review, CSA provides code related seminars.  These are usually half to full day classes providing general overviews of critical areas.  Classes are generally geared towards electrical engineers, mechanical engineers, architects, plan reviewers, inspectors, general contractors, and owners. 

Note: These classes are not intended for those who will be taking qualification assessments.  Qualification assessments require knowledge beyond the general scope of these seminars.
